Digital potentiometers, also known as DigiPOTs, are electronic devices that allow the user to adjust the resistance of a circuit digitally. They are designed to replace traditional mechanical potentiometers and offer several advantages, such as greater precision, faster response, and remote control.
DigiPOTs consist of a set of resistive elements, divided into several segments, and a wiper that can be moved to change the resistance between two terminals. The position of the wiper is controlled by digital signals, which are decoded to select the appropriate resistance segment.
