Digital counters are electronic circuits that can be used to count and keep track of the number of events or occurrences in a digital system. They are commonly used in digital systems to generate timing signals, to control sequencing, and to implement digital control functions.
Digital counters can be designed using various technologies, including transistor-transistor logic (TTL), complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS), and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Up-down counters can count both up and down, depending on the direction of the input signal.
