Timers and real-time clocks (RTCs) are electronic devices that are used to measure and track time intervals in electronic systems. They are crucial components in many applications, such as control systems, automation systems, and consumer electronics.

A timer is an electronic device that is used to measure the duration of time intervals. Timers can be either digital or analog and can be used to measure time intervals ranging from microseconds to hours or even days. A real-time clock (RTC) is a clock that keeps track of the current time and date. Unlike a timer, an RTC is capable of keeping track of time even when the system is powered off.
