Pressure Sensors

Pressure sensors are electronic devices that are used to measure the pressure of gases or liquids in a variety of applications. They convert physical pressure into an electrical signal that can be measured, processed, and used for control or monitoring purposes.

Pressure sensors can be classified into two main categories: absolute pressure sensors and gauge pressure sensors. Absolute pressure sensors measure the pressure relative to a vacuum or absolute zero pressure, while gauge pressure sensors measure the pressure relative to atmospheric pressure.

Pressure sensors work based on the principle of converting pressure into an electrical signal. This can be achieved using different sensing technologies, including strain gauge, capacitive, piezoelectric, and optical sensing.

Strain gauge pressure sensors use a thin metal film that changes resistance as the pressure applied to it changes. Capacitive pressure sensors use the change in capacitance between two plates as the pressure changes.
