CipherShield Hard Drive with 192-bit AES Encryption provides an economical and convenient way of securing sensitive confidential data from falling into the wrong hands. Activated by the Cipher Key which will encrypt the drive and make the data inaccessible, even when the entire computer is lost or stolen. The key will encrypt the entire computer and hard drive including the data, boot sector, temp files, swap files, and even the operating system itself without performance degradation. It requires no device driver and is independent from and invisible to all known Operating Systems including embedded OS. Data stored on the hard drive are safeguarded by hardware-based National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) certified industrial strength AES cryptographic engine. The advantage of hardware encryption over software encryption is that you need not be concerned about Trojans/viruses or software upgrades, which results in a decrease of total cost of ownership.
