The UltraGB+ is a Bus-Powered FireWire 800 (400 compatible) storage device. That's right bus-powered, needing NO AC ADAPTER. This is an industry first, and WiebeTech exclusively sells UltraGB+, the only product with this feature for 3.5" IDE drives. Plug your drive into a FireWire port, turn it on, and you're ready! The only requirement is adequate power from the host FireWire port. Most FireWire ports provide enough power, but some (like 4 pin iLink ports) provide no power at all.
