The RocketU 1144D is our fastest USB 3.0 HBA! This 4th generation USB 3.0 PCIe 2.0 x4 controller card sports four independent USB 3.0 which are powered by dedicated 5Gb/s controllers and UAS technology. The RocketU 1144D is optimized for USB 3.0 storage devices and peripherals, and is well suited for a wide-range of applications including portable/removable storage, storage expansion, personal media libraries, and backup solutions. Unlike conventional USB cards that are best used as simple device hubs, RocketU HBA's are uniquely suited for high-speed USB 3.0 storage configurations. With dedicated 5Gb/s per-port performance, also ideal for a variety of external storage configurations including multi-drive bays, RAID enclosures, and external SSD's. UAS (USB Attached SCSI) is a computer protocol that is used to transfer data to and from USB storage devices such as hard drives, solid state drives (SSDs) and thumb/flash drives. UAS is dependent on the USB protocol, and utilizes the standard SCSI command set. UAS combined with HighPoint's revolutionary per-port performance architecture, boosts transfer performance to new levels! UAS offers maximized bandwidth utilization, and can handle multiple data transfer requests simultaneously, unlike the slower queue system of BOT (Bulk Only Transport), which only provides single-task commands – each task must complete before the next begins. As a result, USB 3.0 connections working in UASP mode result in higher transfer speeds and lower CPU utilization. UAS clears data queues faster, which results in smoother-operating PC's. |
